If I were to have a kid now, my plans for the future would be non-existent. I wouldn’t be able to ship out to basic training, and I would lose the best experience of my life. I wouldn’t be able to travel around the world, meet new people, or even learn the basics of my military job which will lead me into a career in an expanding industry.
So my advice to anyone in my age group of fourteen to eighteen: Wait until you are ready. Experience life, live to your fullest, and then settle down. Make sure the person you want to do it with is the person you want to be with. And, if you are going to do something, make sure you’re smart about it and protected. Getting pregnant or having a kid is a serious life choice and will limit what you can do in life. You would have to care for the baby and would have to watch the baby. Make sure you are actually ready and not being naïve. –Teen, age 17
