“Finish college and attend the police academy”

June 16th, 2015

If I were to have a child, my life would literally be turned upside down. I would feel like I let so many people in my life down. I would feel embarrassed, immature, and irresponsible. I would have to find a way to let my parents know the huge change in my life. The worst part is that I would have to ruminate enlisting for the military. It would be cowardly for me to leave my child behind in my opinion, but I would feel as if it would be better in the long run if I were to go into the military to support my family. I would very rarely get to see them and miss out on important milestones in my child’s life. Even after the military, I would have to go to college to join the police force. From there, I would finish college and attend the police academy. Morally, I couldn’t let my child go without a father figure in its life. Not only would they be emotionally neglected but I would need to have my girlfriend/wife buy groceries, baby food, clothes, diapers, wipes, pay for doctor’s appointments, and that’s not even all!   There are so many expenses; my wife/girlfriend wouldn’t be able to support the child on her own without my help.

Long story short, if I were to have a child, it could possibly send me down a completely different path, interfering with my “LIFE PLANS.” –Teen, age 17
